Job Description

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Fitness invites applications for a full-time Visiting Professor position (1 year, renewable up to 3 years) beginning August 2018.

The candidate must support the activities of the Human Performance Laboratory as they relate to course use, departmental initiatives, and student projects.

The candidate’s vitae should provide evidence of current and historical contributions to the profession through involvement in the community and in an Exercise Science related professional organization (such as the American College of Sports Medicine, ACSM).

The candidate will co-sponsor the Kinesiology major’s club, academically advise Kinesiology students, and represent the Division of Professional Studies with campus committee participation.

Essential Duties Summary

Candidate must provide evidence of the ability to communicate, teach, and work with undergraduates. McMurry University places high regard on quality teaching and discipline-specific community-engaged professionals.
Possible Course Assignments (dependent upon candidate’s interest and educational preparation):
• Anatomical Kinesiology
• Introduction to Motor Learning
• Nutrition for the Health Sciences
• Research and Writing in Exercise Science
• Adapted Physical Activity and Sport
• Fitness for Living Modified
• Personal and Community Health
• Risk Management in Exercise Science
• Professional load of teaching expected to meet a minimum of 12 hours credit per semester.

Required Qualifications

Eligible candidates will possess:
• Terminal degree in Exercise Science/Exercise Physiology/Human Performance (ABD status considered).
• Proficient use of a course management system (MOODLE experience preferred).
