Job Description

McMurry University is currently accepting applications for adjunct faculty to teach in the McMurry Online Degrees (MOD) undergraduate Criminal Justice major.

We are seeking part-time faculty who have a Master of Arts or Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice, Justice Studies, Criminology, Sociology, or a closely related field.

Current and former law enforcement professionals who have advanced experience in crisis management, forensic science, jurisprudence, Secret Service, and/or homeland security are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties Summary

Will teach undergraduate courses in one or more of the following areas:
• Corrections and Policing
• Criminal Justice
• Criminology
• Crisis Management
• Forensic Science
• Justice Administration
• Law Enforcement
Courses will be delivered in an 7-week format.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Master’s Level degree with 18 graduate hours in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related field of instruction.
• Commitment to providing responsive instruction and attentive support to online students
• Experience teaching in an online format

Minimum Required Education Master’s degree
Preferred Qualifications

• Terminal degree in instructional field
• Advanced professional experience or expertise in law enforcement or closely related field
• Undergraduate or graduate level online teaching experience
• Competence with learning management systems such as Moodle, Canvas, and/or Blackboard
• Texas Residency
